What Is a Starter Interrupt Device?

A starter interrupt device (sometimes called a payment-assurance device) prevents a financed vehicle from starting after the buyer has missed a payment and been warned.

How it works

It sits in-line with the vehicle wiring and, on command, blocks the next ignition. It cannot stop a moving car and typically includes an emergency start code. Payment resumes → the dealer restores it instantly.
