Lease here pay here (LHPH) is a model in which the dealer leases a vehicle to the customer and keeps the title until the lease term ends, collecting payments in-house.
How LHPH works
Instead of selling and financing the car, the dealer leases it. The customer makes payments and the dealer retains ownership until the term is complete, at which point the customer may have an option to buy.
LHPH vs BHPH
The key difference is ownership: in buy here pay here the dealer finances a sale, while in LHPH the dealer keeps the title. Retaining ownership can simplify protecting and recovering the vehicle. See LHPH GPS tracking.
